How trenchless works

We go under, not through.

A drill rig steers a bore in a shallow arc between two small pits — pulling your pipe underneath roads, rivers and yards without tearing them open.

Cross-section of a horizontal directional drilling crossing A drill rig at an entry pit steers a bore in a shallow arc roughly six metres beneath a road and a river, out to an exit pit about 120 metres away, where the product pipe is attached and pulled back through the reamed hole. 01Pilot bore

Steer the arc

A tracked head is pushed from the entry and steered along a shallow curve, tracked to the surface the whole way.

02Ream

Open the hole

A reamer is pulled back through, enlarging the bore to comfortably clear the diameter of your pipe.

03Pullback

Pull the pipe

Your pipe is fixed at the exit and drawn back through the reamed hole in one continuous length.

The team behind the work

“The important details don’t get lost in the process — because you’re talking to the people who do the work.”

WM Directional Drilling has been putting pipe in the ground across the Maritimes since 2021. Whether you’re a contractor who needs a difficult crossing handled, an engineer specifying trenchless, or a customer who wants a turn-key install — you deal with the owner before and throughout the project, and the crew on site works to the same standard.
